Goode Company Barbecue still reigns as the best barbecue
in town according to readers. In fact, of the 18 establishments in this category,
Goode Company Barbecue had more votes than all the rest of them combined. The
restaurant has been in business for more than 25 years and is still packed on
a Sunday afternoon. Otto's Bar-B-Q smokes Pappas Bar-B-Q this year as it moves
to the second spot, leaving the third for Pappas. Luling City Market Bar-B-Q
Restaurant & Bar and Luthur's Bar-B-Q also receive a fair amount of readers'
praise for their ribs and variety of condiments. A newcomer
to the category, Houston Barbecue Co., also receives enough votes to compete
with the big boys of barbecue.
